Oooh,Aaaaw, looks nice.
Now Cars land is decorated for the holidays.
Using whitewall tires and air filters for wreaths (is that proper plural for wreath?)

MiceChat: Holidays at Disneyland

I wish they would not do that! They ruin the haunted mansion every year with it, and increase the time spent in line as a result!

Cars land, and also CA as a whole is such a cool place! They have improved the food at every restaurant there, and have added alchohol in numerous places! (used to just be the wine place and the beer truck).

Which one is Cars Land and which one is Sedona, AZ?

Easy answer, but Disney did do a good job of getting the colors right.

Last night was "dapper day", so everyone was wearing vintage clothing. Half expected to see Spike and Dinah there!

Swing dancers:

A long island ice tea:

A really good manhattan

A big dork:

I shouldn't blow my own trade secret, but there is a very cool place that few seem to know about...it's where I got the manhattan in the picture above. This is a great first stop when you enter california adventure.

The Alfresco Lounge is one of my favorites too. I also like the Carthay Circle Lounge for it's air conditioning, setting and food.
You can get a Zombie and a mai tai at the Cove Bar in California Adventure.
If you want to avoid the crowds watching World of Color then don't watch it from the front, watch it from behind. You get the same effect if you watch it from the boardwalk.
Carthay Circle.

I haven't eaten or drank at Carthay, yet.....but I went and looked around inside. The place is incredible! But this is something I love about CA in general...there ARE places to go chill and avoid the crowds. Classic disney used to be like this when i was a kid...it wasn't always as crowded as it seems to be now. There were nights and days (usually cold ones) when you had the run of the park..but ever since the advent of the southern california discount passes and the fact that they allow parents to bring in humvee-sized double and triple strollers means classic disney is always crowded to the point of being uncomfortable. CA is the saving grace now. And they have alchohol!

Hey Lucas, we were there on Dapper Day Sunday. It was our first time as DD participants and we did the fashion thing. It was a very fun time for us more "mature" types, and we'll probably do it again. Great to see so many swanky-looking peeps as it harkened back to gentler days. You know, like during the Cold War? We finished our very long day at Trader Sam's; another first for us. The place was packed (way too small inside) but thankfully there were two gals who we'd run into and chatted up several times throughout the day and they were about to leave, so they offered us their table! We had a swell time.

Well you two look smart!

Lookin' dapper, I must say! I am suprised this event is not more well-publicized, but it should be and it seems to be right up tiki central's alley! If people are into it, you can go here to sign up:

it was a hoot, and just like you said...people were dressed probably the way the average person dressed in the 50's to go to amusement parks...ties, coats, hats...pretty damn swanky! I almost plotzed when I saw the Japanese girls all done up as well! There were a lot of pin-up girls left and right! frankly, I hardly even went on any rides, just had some drinks and walked around people watching and seeing them dance and stuff. very cool!

Oh, and do try the alfresco lounge next time. The drinks are superb....maybe even up to your standards? :)
They are using all craft spirits up there, so even though the drinks are a bit on the expensive side, they are definitely worth it!

Strollers will be restricted from certain areas of Disneyland soon...

MousePlanet: No Strollers

it looks like the stroller ban will only be in one place. I wish they would make it park wide. This was not a problem in the old days, because strollers were smaller, and I believe you HAD to rent them at Disney. But have you seen the size of the strollers these "parents" bring in now? they are HUGE! And these people stop right wherever they are and start feeding the little monsters or changing diapers, with no regards to pedestrians all around them. it's the "me" generation all over again. And why are they bringing sleeping infants in the first place? And why are they pushing these same sleeping infants around on a tuesday night at 10:OO PM? Anyway, I could go on and on about how these selfish people are ruining disneyland....but I'll stop now.

For now, I will enjoy calif adventure and will rarely go to classic disney any more unless it is practically snowing and freezing. I can't stand the crowds. really.
