Tiki Stuff at Joann's Fabrics

Pages: 1 17 replies

I was at Joann's Fabrics in East Bay yesterday and they have some tiki/hula decor. Example - a sunglasses case with the Easter Island guy on it, and it said "Tiki Lounge." There was also one with a hula girl on it. There was some other stuff too but I can't remember because I'm under the weather.

I was there today and they had a small tote bag that said Tiki Lounge or Tiki Time or something like that with a pic of a hula girl. I cant recall the details b/c I was too shocked by the $19.99 price tag. It was a really SMALL tote bag.

Hi! You must go to Repro Depot Fabrics.
They have super cool Tiki, Hawaiian, surf, 40's and 50's fabrics.

not sure if this is a thread for old style hawaiian fabric but if any one is interested there is always http://www.barkclothhawaii.com/

You can get most of the Hawaiian fabrics sold by Repro Depot in Downtown L.A. for at least 1/2 the price.

AC where? The garment district? Any particular store?

Alen's Fabrics 829 South Wall Street.
(Wall just north of 9th) sells only Hawaiian print fabrics-213-622-4454

Also, try the shops in the building of the NW corner of 9th and Los Angeles (the one with the $1.00/yd store on the corner)

Thanks Atomic Cocktail, I'll have to check them out when I get back from vacation, I need several yards of fabric for a bedspread I want to make but the barkcloth at 35 dollars a yard isn't in my budget.

Oooooohhh... yet another reason to get excited about my move. Now I need to get my humuhumu makina fixed -- it can't do zig-zag stitches, which is a real bummer!

Hey, besides the tiki stuff being at JoAnn's, this weekend everything was 60% off! Probably is in your town too! We also got a deal on framing, which was why we went, and got shadow boxes and the Hawaii photo album and too much stuff since it was 60% off. They had some lights that could really pass for colored ship's lights if you wanted that decor.

Joann Fabric stores and starting to display their 2007 spring/patio line, and they have some tiki lanterns. They look like mugs only a little bit wider and they have some holes in them so candle light can shine thru. They are in several bright colors like pink and blue, yellow and green and are $7.99. They should go on sale soon, when the store officially announces the spring merch. I dont have a photo but I'd say they are decently tiki-ish and will be of interest to some TCers. Purists may object however.

$106 dollars later, i walked out with lampshades galore at 50% off.....expect to see some on my tiki lamps i will post for sale throughout the year. i also bought some of the asian crap they had for 50% off as well....lots of good deals if you are into that stuff like i am....the tiki candle holders were laughable....lame colors and sculpts...pass them on by and leave them for the jimmy buffet fans.

Thanks for the Heads-Up...I can hit the Rocklin Joann's this weekend. :tiki:

They have some pretty decent tiki stuff at Joann Fabrics again. I just got an 18" tiki statue for $30 after the 40% off that went in to effect today. They have colored acrylic tiki tumblers and pitchers, bamboo-themed pitchers with matching cups and ice buckets, and paper products with tikis. Obviously some of it is on the cornier side.

I wish I could post a pic of the staute that I got because he is pretty cool, but a friend borrowed my digital camera.

wow, that website is hard to navigate.

As for new Joanne Fab stuff, it's not bad design. Couldn't find a real use for any of it, though [I'm not into (eating off/drinking from) plastic].

I got a GREAT deal on this guy at JoAnn's!
originally $50..

I got it for $7.50 because of this chipping on one side, but who cares! I can fill it in, or just face that side to the wall!

I also got this Thor puzzle at JoAnn's for $5 on sale!!
