How to make a Volcano BBQ:

  1. Find an old Weber by the side of the road...
  2. Teach your 16 year old son to weld...
  3. Make a pencil rod frame...
  4. Attach aluminum mesh (and tear the crap out of your hands because you are too proud to wear gloves) . The stuff is half razor tape, half cheese grater.
  5. Cover with Quick-Crete...
  6. Test for strength...
  7. Build up pigment...
  8. Add Fire...
  9. Prepare to Sacrifice!!!

Love it!

Awesome! Does the grill still fit so you can grill some sacrificial steaks :D

Looks great....

Awesome! Love the strength test, hilarious looks like a cannibal cooking pot.

BRILLIANT!

I was an oxygen acetylene torch welder. If I'd only had the foresight I wouldn't have sold all my equipment. What a wonderful project with a great outcome. Impressive. Wendy

So you could use this to roast small to mid size children.

Thanks to you all!
Lets plan a cook out!

I like it! It looks like it is built to last.
Could you put a fog machine and color changing (red, yellow, white) lights in it?

W

Throw in some soaked wood chips, a pork shoulder, and you got a smokin' delicious afternoon! This is awesome!

I did build in two openings on the side with orange lights built in. I have to make an 'access panel' to cover the opening in front, then I can have smoke leak out the vents!
I will get right on that and post photos....

Brilliant! I want one!

T

thanks! More photos to follow. I like the cannibal stew pot reference, might have to work on one of those next!
