This is a friend of a friend's yard. These shots were sent to me a couple of years ago and I've seen that there's much more there now. The owner was widowed about eight years ago, her husband did most of the carving and general heavy lifting. It's both sad and fun, still in use I hear and a wedding was recently performed on the bridge over the koi pond/stream (only glimpses of the stream here as it's empty now). This is the way I remember tiki yards and houses looked while growing up back in the '60s in SoCal - but for this unique artwork. Enjoy. I removed some relief aggregate steps from my yard which found a new home on her tables. [ Edited by: Zinctiki 2013-10-04 14:46 ] |
