He is named after the largest island of the Marquesas in French Polynesia - the island made famous by Herman Melville in his book Typee and visited by Robert Louis Stevenson. The design is based on an original carving found here on Taboo Island, most likely left here by missionaries during their travels to and from Tahiti. This color combination is a strong matte red, weathered down over time, with a gloss black inside. There will only be 25 mugs produced in this color, each numbered on the bottom. Total run for this design will only be 100 plus 25 super limited artist proofs. Of the 100 run, every 25 will be a different color - totaling 4 different color combinations. Measures 4" tall. Found buried deep in the jungles of Taboo Island, the natives have just unearthed these ancient remains. A simple, classic, yet fun take on a skull mug, he fits comfortably in your hand and is ready to hold your most ghastly concoctions. He does have a slightly surprised look on his face, but you would too if someone drilled a straw hole through the side of your skull!! This color combination is a matte pumpkin orange, weathered down over time, with a gloss blood red inside which has oozed out over the top. Just the perfect color combo for Halloween. However, we were just able to find a new source for good red glaze at a much lower price, and we are passing the savings on to you! The remaining Nuku Hiva mugs made with the new glaze are now only $40! Bad: Nuku Hiva is already more than half way sold out in the red color, so grab one now before they are gone. A second color is coming out shortly. Badder: There are only a couple of the Halloween bloody skulls left, so act even faster on that one! Mahalo to everyone who already picked one or more up!!!!

This is the second of 4 color combinations we are doing, and this version of Nuku Hiva is feeling a little blue. I mean really blue. But not a sad kind of blue... a happy blue. As blue as the waters of Anaho Bay as they slowly roll onto Nuku Hiva. There will only be 25 mugs produced in this color, each numbered on the bottom.
