Description:
Hi there. New to Tiki Central.
I hope to post some more topics of my finds etc soon. But first here is a place I thought any tiki fan would enjoy. Though not tiki in a traditional sense, in some ways it's even better! The collection goes back to the 20's and it's decor and layout fit the bill! Here are some links. I'd be curious what people think.

Well I think it's not tiki. In any sense.

Looks like a fun place tho..

No!

No i realize it's very not a tiki bar of any kind but I think anyone who is an appreciator of Tiki artwork, culture and 50's decor would really enjoy it. The collection is 100% authentic and dates back almost 100 years. It has a real kitschy vibe just like a tiki bar should! I was blown away when I walked in. 100 year old baskets, carvings, murals, cheesy map of Canada place mats, paper hats, plush diner booths and a great gift shop. I can't wait to go back!

Pacific Northwest Indian totems are frequently mistaken
for Tikis by people who are clueless about Tiki in general

It is insulting to the Pacific Northwest Indian Tribes & their cultural art
as well Tikiphiles.

So still, a resounding No!

I think what I'm getting at is there are only so many great tiki locations in the area and for a similar experience I'd recommend the Tomahawk. I'm not mistaking it for a tiki establishment nor am I trying to offend either culture. I just think a tiki enthusiast might enjoy going and get more out of it than the average visitor. Finding a great 60+ year old diner of any kind is hard, enjoying a great collection of artifacts in a private collection is a lucky experience and generally appreciating such a survivor of an establishment isspecial. I'd wager someone on here who is travelling to Vancouver may enjoy adding it to their list of destinations.

Sounds and looks cool to me but I'm going to move it to Beyond Tiki, it'll be fine there.

It is a cool place.
If you do go back ask them if they can do something about that white Microwave that is
front and center behind counter.
messes with the old time vibe.
Put a Teepee over it.

It's like your with your girl and her mom calls, all the Viagra in the world could
not bring back the magic at that point.
