Go here at 7pm sharp to book your hotel room and purchase main event tickets. Symposium tickets will be added in about two weeks.

Click on HOTEL BOOKING in the left side navigation, then Crowne Plaza.

TIPS for BOOKING HOTEL ROOM at CROWNE PLAZA on MONDAY MAY 4th 7pm PST

  1. You can only book the hotel thru the website: http://www.tikioasis.com
  2. Do NOT call the hotel..it will go to a national hotline they cannot help you. If you somehow get the front desk at the hotel - the hotel will show up as sold out to them. All bookings must go thru the website. Please don't call any hotel numbers.
  3. You must book both Friday & Saturday or the booking will NOT work! (of course for the real Tiki Oasis experience you should book Thursday-Sunday!)
  4. When booking make sure you select your STATE and all the other details or the booking will not go thru.
  5. PRICE: Rooms start at $195.00 plus tax // Poolview-Stage rooms are at $215.00 plus tax
  6. Room Location requests will be honored on a first book first requested basis. Please submit all requests in the additional requests field of your reservation.
  7. A COMPUTER seems to work best for room booking vs phone/tablet.
  8. All reservations require a valid credit card. All guests staying in the room MUST have their name on the reservation. NO deposit is required when making a reservation. Please note there is a $40.00 per day incidental deposit. Upon check in you will be required to show a valid ID and credit card that match the name on your reservation. Credit and debit cards will be authorized upon check in for the total amount of the room, tax, and $40.00 per day incidental deposit
  9. If rooms sell out or they are too costly for you. Go ahead and book at Kings Inn or Comfort Inn, info on website below Crowne Plaza
  10. Rooms DO NOT come with tickets for any events at Tiki Oasis including poolside events or symposiums. We will have basic tickets for sell on Monday - we suggest waiting to book your tickets til later in the week when Symposium tickets go up. Don't worry they will not sell out quickly.

Wow.
Gone in 20 minutes.
For some reason, I couldn't book a room on firefox, had to switch to Chrome and lost my poolside rez.
Anyone else have that issue?

between facebook and text messages and my own experience rooms went in under 5 mins

Really looking forward to this!

Got booked in 4 min

First time in 8 years I couldn't book a Fri /Sat night room... this Tiki thing has officially blasted off. I'm staying Sunday night though!

Booked and ready for departure.

Space is the place!

True Shocker, we had 28,000 hit in less than half an hour

(of course most of that is folks hitting refresh on the browser)

Yes, Jeff, the rarely seen and highly respected The Chocolate Watchband will headline on Sunday.
As if having The Standells AND Johnny Echols Love Revisited last year was not enough!?!

In celebration of Tiki Oasis past and present I'm posting a "100 days of" look back on Instagram. Follow heylownine or check the tag "100ofTikiO".

As usual, I can't wait for August.

It has been awhile since anyone has posted on this thread. Any vendors have a preview of what they are bringing to the event?

I am getting really excited for Tiki Oasis!

if anybody from Far away is coming to California the weekend before Tiki Oasis,
check out this event.

I ran across a Tiki Oasis 15 music sampler on the Reverberations Media site today. 22 tracks from bands at this year's Oasis.

If anyone is in town early for Oasis, Polite Provisions is having a Tiki Night on Tuesday before Oasis. $1 from each drink goes to charity. 10% off with aloha attire.

Tiki Oasis is less than 1 week away. I am excited!

The wife and I will be at Polite Provisions. We love their tropical Tuesdays (well, at least we love their drinks,) but we haven't been there in a long time. Look forward to seeing anyone that makes it out.

What's that
It's almost time
:)

T

Negative points to Polite Provisions/ Consortium Holdings for using the phrase "tiki attire." Treg, not sure if you agree/ disagree with that statement, but it does relate to Humu's thread on cocktails (in General Tiki).

Haven't been to PP's Tuesday night since their first "Tiki Tuesday," but it was a fun night (except for those plastic Party City tiki things)....

[ Edited by: TikiAno 2015-08-08 15:53 ]

I agree TikiAno. Tiki attire isn't a thing.

Friday and Saturday night in Don the Beachcomber's room!

Aw Yeah! The Hula Girls one Night
and Grey Aliens the next!
JOY!

You may wanna get your drink on at the Thorsuite (Lanai Suite #3)
4-6pm for the Sip-n-Shop!
I will be vending with those three powerhouses Thor,Crazy Al,and Doug Horne in the Lanai Suite 3 all Weekend! We will be having a Sip-n-Shop on Friday 4pm to 6pm sponsored by our good friends at Deadhead Rum,Apocalypto Tequila, and Galliano, who will be serving their "Walking Dead" and "Gray matter" cocktails! And while your sipp'n and suppin, you can soak yourself in Mugs,Bowls,Original Paintings and Drawings,Shrunken heads,Prints,Woodburns, and even Coloring books!
Wow! Can it get any better?!?!

Prepare to blastoff!

I will be at Oasis just for the afternoon today wearing this gaudy but easily recognizable Baining fire dance shirt. If you see me please come say hello :)

A

I'm officially done with Tiki Oasis. Or maybe it's more appropriate to say that Tiki Oasis is finally done with me.

As a San Diego resident, I've never wanted to stay at the Crown Plaza, which is only a 10 minute drive from my home. It just never made any sense to me to spend so much money to sleep in a bed just a stone's throw from my actual bed. Yeah, yeah I know -- parties, bands, pool lounging, etc. But if I'm going to spend a lot of money on a weekend getaway, I'm going to actually get away. I tried several years ago to see if the organizers would be willing to make at least a few tickets to certain events available to SD residents, but they were uninterested. I understood. They wanted to only sell package tickets. Fine.

I still went to the Marketplace every year and had a great time, always buying at least a few things. And I always really enjoyed the kickoff party at the Bali Hai. This has always been a great event that I've looked forward to every year and where I bumped into old friends, enjoyed the food, drinks, entertainment and camaraderie.

Then this year, the kickoff party was made off limits to anyone not buying the 3 or 4-night Tiki Oasis pass, which of course is sold out. So I'm shut out for the first time ever. So I won't bother going to the Marketplace either -- heck I'm not even sure I can get into that without a ticket as well. Victims of success, I guess.

Good luck to all, and I hope everyone has a great time.

Not specific to you, but I have noticed that Tiki Oasis is done with Tiki Central. There isn't even a thread going for this years event. The FB page for the event are very active and popular, with over 10,000 members.

It really goes with the general trend going on here I think: fewer and fewer people making contributions. In the last few months the FB trend has been to just create new groups covering what the threads here used to: Home Tiki Bar Builds, Tiki Collectors, and of course Tiki Oasis 2016
