Kase Jackson Velvet Paintings - help?

Hello!

So, my mother-in-law has 5 Kase Jackson velvet paintings that her father had purchased in the late 60s. She loves them and wants them to go to good homes, but she has no idea what they are worth or how she should go about selling them. Ebay? Local art gallery? What are your thoughts on how she can be sure they go to someone who will appreciate them?
