Ok.... so without much warning, I am going to pick up my wife at a conference in Miami Florida tomorrow. I am embarrassed to admit that I have never been to the Mai Kai....But we have a reservation for dinner tomorrow at 5:30. I don’t have a lot of time to research this, so I need your help: What are the “can’t miss” aspects of the restaurant? I am soooo excited Jim [ Edited by: tikijimmy 2018-03-15 18:59 ] |

Jim, You can walk around the restaurant and gardens, just be discrete to customers. Get the Kona Coffee Grog after dinner. It is a treasure "only at the Mai-Kai" just like Don did it. Macadamia encrusted grouper, anything from the ovens, Peking Duck is the best in the world, but for 2. Happy Hour is only in Molokai, get some drinks there first. Mutiny or Black Magic, Special Planters, KO Cooler, Jet Pilot, etc. There is a Best Western nearby that's nice, vintage. There's a book in the giftshop... |

Bahia Cabana Hotel, Yankee Clipper Wreck Bar. Jet Pilot, that's the drink I like best. Like the Peking duck as well. PM sent. |

Is this the hotel on the water, at the water taxi stop, across, more or less, from the Wreck Bar. Google says it's permanently closed. |
