"In the Tropical Motif" - Southland Magazine Feature on 1949 Pre-Tiki Decor

Not exactly about a home bar, but I thought this was a fun little read - if it's in the wrong place I'll be happy to post somewhere else.

An article called "In the Tropical Motif" that ran in the Sunday, April 17, 1949, Southland Magazine featured the home of Charles Redner at 4615 East Broadway in Long Beach, CA. According to the article, the home was decorated with a mashup of Latin American, Hawaiian, and Chinese décor against a backdrop of "tropical" elements. It's an interesting view into how eclectic early fans of exotica could be. Unfortunately, the copy is too bad to see any real detail in the photos.
