Hanford's Hard Drive problems

Pages: 1 5 replies

Hi all,

quick update ... if you have IMed me, emailed me, or PMed me and I have not responded:

I have had a serious hard-drive problem with my main PC. Since this computer is both my work and hobby, I have been spending all my waking hours getting the information off of it and get my PC back up to a decent running speed. So I have not had much time for anything other than that.

Yes, I had a recent backup of all the important stuff (Business stuff). But I'm trying to save the non-important stuff like all of my mp3s (I don't want to re-rip).

Thanks for understanding.

~Hanford

my deepest condolences.

after massive HD problems earlier this year which has me literally in tears, i finally broke down and bought a new portable which I am slowly offloading all my desktop onto. then the desktop will be the backup.

Me too. Had to dump and re-install the entire OS. Me thinks it pays to have a back up.

My standard reply to anyone with computer problems:

"I swear, I never touched it, I was nowhere near it, it was like that before I was even born!"

Because I'm one of those people that screws up computers and watches and stuff just by proximity.

I just got through dealing with a bad hard drive two weeks ago. Such a time consuming pain in the ass. Freaks you out when you realize how much you start to depend on these stupid boxes.

Best of luck, HL.
