I've decided to make this a monthly comic on my site but I need a name. The strip will be about a beachcomber-type dude, and will take its inspiration from the tiki/surf/beach scenes. Whoever names my comic will get a free T-Shirt. |

Wow, you guys must have conered the market on thinking caps, and Scrimshaw, that must have been some dream. I'll bet rum was involved. There are many great names here, but a few fit my comic better than others. Here is the shortlist: Off the Hook The bar has been set accordingly. If you can top these, by all means do. I'll give it one more week before making my final decision. Thanks everyone. |

I can't believe nobody suggested "Kumanawanalei'a". C'mon, folks! Actually, if you're looking for names, make sure it hasn't been taken. Go to http://onlinecomics.net/ or Google and search for the words. People tend to get a little bit shirty (not to mention litigious) when they think you're infringing upon their imagined trademarks. And then, people with actual registered trademarks and servicemarks get beyond shirty and litigious if they think you're "defaming the brand presence" or whatever. |

Chongolio, I wouldn't think of infringing. Can we see any of your comic work online? Sorry Tiki Chris. Craetagus, that's a pretty cool link. Thanks. My wife's a patent paralegal, but is also well versed in Trademarks. She'll keep me straight. |

Thanks, Raffertiki. Cartoons can be tricky, definately not my forte, but I still dig goofy humor. Chongolio |

And the winner is... MAROONED ON THE MAINLAND. There were a lot of good names that would work great on other comic strips or projects, including someof the late entries like "Rum Luck" and "Two kicks in the kidneys" LOL. But "Marooned on the Mainland" nailed it. It really sets the tone nicely and is general enough for what I have in mind. So thanks everyone for contributing, and lets hear it for, Scrimshaw! Scrimshaw, PM me with your shirt size and address. |

Scrimshaw PMed me that he received his winning T-shirt. Some of it was written in French, but I think he was saying he liked it. |
