Harvesting a Tiki from Concrete

Let's suppose, um, someone found a bunch of old carved Tikis. The owner of said carvings is willing to give them up, but some of them are anchored in concrete (surrounded by soil.) Would you take a chainsaw to the base? or try to preserve it by sledgehammering?

Just a hypothetical question, no real reason.

sledge first,then chisel, take as long as it takes,save as much as you can good luck ,pack a lunch

hypothetically speaking, would these tikis be in a slab of concrete, or concrete just around the base (to give support)?

Would the hypothetical owner of said tikis want you to replace the concrete after the tikis are removed? (if it's a slab) - a chainsaw to the base may be the easiest (unless you are or know of a concrete worker)

or, can you dig them up? if so, the hypothetical sledge hammering stage should not harm the wood, and like TIKI DAVID said, chisel the smaller chunks (if there are any - sometimes concrete will come right off with a few well placed wacks)
You actually may just want to chisel to get cracks in the concrete, then wack away with the sledgehammer to remove the chunks

Oh, I don't know. Let's say, for the sake of this discussion, that they're just receiving support from the concrete... and that they in the middle of a yard. yes, that sounds good. Middle of the yard.

Hey now! Just supposing there are some Tikis that need to be liberated from concrete somewhere, they'd be removed with the owners' blessing. Now, I'm not saying that there are any, that'd be jinxing it, now wouldn't it?
