The bummer part is my pele figure battery broke instantly as I took it out of the box. It had a little tab for the battery that had to be removed. When I removed it, the whole damn thing came out. It has to be re-soldered, but it is tiny. I may call Disneyana and find out what they can do for me.

Same thing happened to me. I called the merchandise number (I'd give it to you but lost it) and after some painful begging and pleading, the gal connected me with the Disney Store in Downtown Disney. A very nice guy named Sean talked to the manager of the store and agreed that I could bring the Pele figure in and they would exchange it for a new one. Initially they wanted me to bring the whole thing in and exchange it, but I was persistant and finally they broke down...

On a side note: This is one of the coolest things I've bought in a while. I'm the middle of redecorating the home tiki room and I think this will be the main focal point!
