I hear that diamonds are actually not worth that much; but De Beers has a complete monopoly on all diamond mines; so they are able to control the supply and artificially increase the price. That being said, diamonds are pretty and sparkly - although I do have a fear of owning or wearing anything worth more than my car (which is not worth much)! |
