YES, not an ounce of misinterpretation in there! To summarize my points, which are now much clearer thanks to MrBaliHai's rewording:

  1. EVERYONE who doesn't like Small World is a postmodern cynic who reviles everything pure and innocent.
  2. All Disneyland visitors are REQUIRED to love and worship every single part of it like a holy temple.
  3. In order to gain the proper sense of optimism and sentimentality in life in general, one MUST ride an attraction with singing dolls.

Now that we're straight, sorry for veering a bit offtopic.

About the idea of a movie tie-in with the Jungle Cruise, even if it's sort of already been done with the earlier African Queen, it seems like that never affects the decision at all! In fact remakes seem to be the thing these days - maybe it's time for yet another new Peter Pan. The Pirates and Haunted Mansion movies seemed to take vignettes from the rides, but not major characters. A movie based on ETR would have a great setting and specific named characters, but not much built-in story. That probably wouldn't dissuade any brass considering a movie, but the less marquee status of ETR compared to other rides might be a minus. There might be a concern that today's audiences wouldn't be interested in a movie based on a sit-down attraction where puppets sing repetitive happy songs.
