JB has a southern accent. It's not fake. He grew up in Mobile, AL. He is a very successful white southerner, and does not appear to suffer psychological guilt over this. This probably overstates the matter a bit, but sometimes it seems that for some folks, this is his gravest sin. Prejudice does take many forms. My opinion regarding the south is pretty simple: it's warmer there than it is in New Jersey.
