Just thought some of you would be interested in this. Universal Japan is reissuing some old vinyl on CD (I've heard a couple and they are NOT LP's transferred, they sould like they are from the master tapes). Just released earlier this month. Here are some links to check them out: Connie Francis "Hawaii Connie" Hal Aloma: Lure of the Islands Ohta-San "Ukulele Isle" Benny Kalama "Around the World In 80 Shakes" Ethel Smith "Make Mine Hawaiian" Sammy Kaw "Swing and Sway In Hawaii" Haunani "From Hawaii With Love" Sam Makia "Hawaiian Holiday" Jerry Byrd "On The Shores of Waikiki" John Hall "Directs Music From Honolulu" Many are Decca recordings. Man, I hope they eventually release other great Decca Hawaiian LPs including the Gene Rains group!! (fingers crossed) The links are to a japanese CD site. I'm not trying to endorse them or anything.
