Then hit the "Apply" button and close. Shut down and restart your Internet Explorer. Now see if the text looks sharper to you. Many people (including myself) think Clear Type makes text look a little fuzzy. Other find it easier to read. It's definately "softer" looking text. Turn it off per the instructions above, and see if it then looks "the old way" and sharper to you.
