I know exactly what you mean about the sea-cow bone; whalebone can be very similar and I have found it best to avoid too much detail on these porous (or flecky-patterned) materials. The details are lost if the material is too busy looking or physically lost if too flaky in nature. I like the way you have tagged in the barb on the ebony/ivory piece - snazzy. functional too..? Just had a thought; you could make a VW symbol from two different materials; then you could call it a 'Combi' :lol: -- Tama :)
