yeah, i'd be pretty careful in any dealings with the lady running the sale. she is the one the "miscommunications" are coming from.

the only tiki left in pollardville was the one cohabitating with the jail cell. its a large diameter tiki around 7 1/2 feet tall. its a beautifully done, and was carved in the early 60's. it was supposed to be auctioned off, along with other big ticket items such as the jail and covered wagon. we were told by the owner to come by pollardville the first weekend in may to check out what's for sale, and to learn further about when the auction for the tiki was to take place. we later learned (a tad too late) that the auction idea was cancelled because other items that were already auctioned off had people backing out of their bids and such. (it apparently was not done in a very formal fashion).

hence, the story goes, the lady in charge of selling off the items took it upon herself to randomly sell it to the buyers sometime before the first weekend in may. the owner did not have direct knowledge of her doing this.

and like ptd, im pretty fried that we couldnt at least make an offer. the whole thing is shady if you ask me.

excuse me while i go wallow in a few adult beverages now.
