Nothin' but love for the ohana! I think WooHoo Wahine made a good point in that the constructive criticism needs to reach the right people. If you are met with blank stares it may be because nobody ever took the time to explain to these "kids" that they were the keepers of Sam's flame. No one ever tried to embue in them the sense of history about the establishment nor inform them about tikiphiles (us). So take it up a notch and talk to the manager or even the owners. The people with a real stake in the place would not have spent so much time and money trying to keep Sam's a viable tiki establishment if they weren't looking for some degree of support from the sizable Cali ohana and that groups powerful word of mouth potential. Give it another shot but maybe before then try and reach Sam's management by e-mail and relate your experience to them so they can address the issues before you head back. Good luck! |
