I am from Australia so have been more exposed to real polynesia than the american polypop stuff. I have hosted a tiki event in Australia and was lucky enough to have Tahitian dancers that were just amazing, and I've also had the pleasure of visiting Tahiti (but only as a layover for 28hrs!).
