Gulfcoast Gasser, Does '60's mean you want a Danish Teak Modern look? I have a couple ideas for you and I've used the free 3d modeling program called SketchUp from Google to design a few things out of wood before building them, and it visualizes great (I prefer it to Autocad for 3d sketching.) I designed the spice rack and cup holder for the kitchen in my last house this way. Post some dimensions your dream cabinet can't be larger than or deeper than. What you got in the way of tools? Table saw, drill/drill press, palm sander, biscuit joiner, dovetail joiner? How simple or complex can this cabinet be and not be over your woodworking skills? Sounds like it needs to be fairly sturdy and movable. Should it lock? Maybe repurpose or modify a fire hose cabinet http://marfabmetal.com/surface.html into a RatRod Tiki style? |
