WOW! My husband was right on the money! As I said before, I thought the mai tai reminded me of gingerbread. The Mr. stated it was probably Falernum, which he loves. He's German and loves Glogg, mead, Gluhwein, Capn M, etc...loves that spice.

He has been trying to duplicate the taste. Now I know why he hasn't been able to! If it's homemade! VERY interesting.
