I'm not sure about all Exotica,
but for some 60's surf recordings being released on cd.
they do a pseudo stereo mix from the mono tapes or vinyl.
and sometimes you actually loose part of the recordings.

I didn't know this till Klas pointed that out on the surf forums a few years back. Thank you sir.
