Here's the only other recipe I like from the August '09 Hawaii magazine feature on "Contemporary Tropicals" (see previous post on the Royal Hawaiian's "Royal Mai Tai"): Muddle in a mixing glass: Top off mixing glass with ice and add: Shake and pour into hurricane glass. Garnish with pineapple wedge, basil leaf and Maraschino cherry. Yeah, I know what' you're thinking...BASIL??? But it works! It's not overpowering...just a hint of it. Shaking instead of blending this drink makes it less "heavy" and sweet. |
