I remember in the mid 1970's going to the TIKIS in Monterey Park for their annual haunted house. They would re-enact grisly scenes of horror violence with lots of fake blood and entrails under flickering lights (which gave it all a surreal slow motion effect). Hammer classics like the "Horror of Dracula" were projected on a large screen for those waiting in line. Categorize this under "Tiki Halloween Devolution". This is the missing link.
