I get so damn caught up in objectivity sometimes, that I feel a strange pang in my gut whenever an exotica performer plays "Yellow Bird" or "Caravan" on a record. Nuthin' Tiki about Calypso or the Midddle East! Which is why Hapa Haole gets my vote for official music of Tiki as well. (don't get me wrong though, I love Exotica, and my band plays "Caravan"!) Love the concept of this CD BigBro. And that illustration is great! |
