Counter point. I mean, is this any different than the Hatbox ghost/zombie mug?

Yeah I know they said the zombie was related to, or initially a concept of the hatbox ghost, but I think you'd never make the connection unless you were told that fact. I still look at it and just see a zombie head. It's not very resemblant. With the present Jack mug however, there's no denying who it is and what it is from - it's not tikified enough. You're correct in that Toy Story has nothing to do with tiki, but it was done so well to go abstract and accurately portray what tiki gods, idols, etc look like that you can't look at the mug and instantly think it's Toy Story, especially when it so nicely and easily blends in with the surrounding mugs. I saw that mug numerous times and never knew what it was until I researched it online and read the details. Even then, the identifying costume, props, etc aren't easy to identify right off the bat and then once you see it you go OOOOOH shit that's Buzz and Woody!

People are very protective about Sam's and any changes because it's Disney, which people are very protective and opinionated about anyway, and there are always changes. I love tiki and I love Disney, so that's probably why Sam's is my favorite join (coupled with the original bartenders there.)
