"the Appearance of Make-Make"
acrylic on wood
16 x 20"
Frame by MP Mikel Parton

This painting pictures a Moai Kava Kava in the foreground gazing at the Creator and Fertility god Make-Make,perched on his finger. Being the main deity of the Tangatu manu Birdman,i have decided to picture him with both attributes, based upon a wooden artifact found upon the island. The Birmen,Moai, and Janus theme are sprinkled about this painting. The composition was inspired by Thomas Hart Benton's "the Picnic".
