Just as there is a Sasquatch and Skunk Ape residing in America,Australia has the Yowie, a name that is thought to have Aboriginal orgins... And just as our native Americans speak of the "Bear People",Terra Austral's first inhabitants also encountered a similar hominid. This piece captures that moment when you,the viewer,turn a corner in the brush and happen upon a CHANCE ENCOUNTER! I used woodburning to showcase another medium mastered over the past few years,and plus,the smell while working was evocative of campfires and nights under a canopy of trees...perfect Yowie sighting conditions....
