I used to be on friendster, but I gave it up as a new year's resolution. Here's why: it was benign enough, and nice to connect to people, but I was looking at the connections one day and realized - 'I really don't have 125,000' connections. So, that, combined with the fact that people were trying to connect up with me that I DIDN'T like and was too polite to refuse, led me to quit. I started thinking that through tikicentral and other forums (like car talk.com, and people finding my own site), I was already networking with all the people I really liked, and that Friendster was becoming more of something to be managed than to actually make connections with people.

That, and the fact you have to pay...
