"the Dali Lama himself. The twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes; the grace; bald; striking... So, we finish the 18, and he's going to stiff me. And I say, 'hey. Lama, hey. How about a little something for, you know, the effort, you know?' And he says, 'oh, uh, there won't be any money. But when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.' So I've got that going for me, which is nice."

Hey Folks,

Let's not get too far off track with all this non-llama silliness. Jokes are fine and all, but they detract from the intent of Tangaroa to open an honest discussion about Holiday Llama and what Holiday Llama means to us at this time of year.

I'm not afraid to express my Holiday Llama Spirit. Don't be afraid to express yours. Stories and pictures please.

Sorry Sabu - my eyesight and hearing have been temporarily shot to pieces because of an explosion that occurred while making treacle toffee. Damn the boiling point of sugar!

We in the UK look forward to the annual 'Parading of the King' ritual that occurs on Christmas Eve in many country villages. The village idiot is covered in soot, made to wear a crown made of dried llama dung and shiny foil, then paraded around the village on the back of a llama festooned with ribbons. He's then forced to drink a gallon of ale at the village pub while the llama is ritually slaughtered and roasted on a spit. The idiot is then thrown in the river and the rest of the villagers wash down their hot llama with copious amounts of mead. It's the highlight of my year.

Don't forget the holiday of Llamadan, where one can spend less time thinking about everyday concerns, and spend more time thinking about Llamas... while fasting.

We wouldn't want this to be a Christian-centric thread!

Rocky Horror Llama is the worst thing I've ever seen.

My now deceased Grammie's church has a Christmas pageant every year, featuring children from their choir. The best part is, of course, the parade of animals which includes a real donkey, llama and a giant fake spitting camel.

Well, my holiday shopping's done...

Yes, I know what you're saying, "Llamas are SO passe." However, I happened upon this image quite by accident & just had to share:
