What a WILD night at Don the Beachcomber! Thanks to everyone who came out for Jen and Deanna's birthday. It's a really fun gig when the room is packed and dancing the whole night! Even if it IS Trevor and Dave swing dancing together! And howabout that 11:00 happy hour?!
Mahalo, mahalo!

We'll be back at Don's on June 17th!!

It was a fun night, I couldn't keep up with some of the TC older folks, what a bunch of rockers you are!
It was nice to meet you Doctor Z, you are a nut in the best meaning of the word.

Thanks Spike,Christian,Doug,Kevin and Lucas for a great night out!
Spike your girlfriend Dinah is a complete sweetheart, Dave can dance! Deanna & Trever are just the coolest cats in town, and so was everyone else I met or talked to,I wished ATP and Jungle Ginger were my parents growing up
when I mentioned it to them, They said "They don't need no stinking kids!" sooooo punk!

Until the next time.

It was nice to meet you too, Chuckles! I had no idea you were so tall (and with green skin!)

Lucas I hope you liked my book "To Serve Man"

TM

yeah....well.....New York is alright.....(if you like saxophones!)

I do like Saxophones and Lucas more "Cowbell"

A happy hour at 11pm on Saturday night and the Hula Girls performing? Life was real good at the Daggar Bar!

Not to mention strong (and popular with the ladies)...

Yes that's Chuck Tatum.

And he may be a "fiercely ambitious, self-centered, wisecracking, down-on-his-luck reporter who has worked his way down the ladder" but he's also TIKI !!

Sorry I missed the show Skip, um I mean Spike, but I'm sure you guys brought the roof down. :)

Well if travelling under the Sea with my pal Captain Nemo, running away from hungry cannibals is not Tiki then I don't know what is! :)

here's some pics from the show. i dont know how to put the photos directly on here, so it's a link to my facebook album.

TM

Those pictures are great! I think they really capture the spirit and essense of exactly how drunk everyone was!

BS

thanks! yea, i too got pretty buzzed, but had to stop drinking early since i had to drive back home to Oceanside that night. good times were had for sure!

We're back at Don's, this Friday night! Come have a drink with us!

This happened the last time we played at Don's...
More weirdness, THIS Friday night, at Don the Beachcomber!

tonight

Oh yea! ready for some Don's action.

TM

That is really funny Lucas! but are you trying to say something?

Fun show! The local Don's crowd is the best.
But how come more TCers are not out to support their local Tiki establishments?
Where are the rest of you Tiki folks?

If you don't support your area's Tiki Bar's & Bands, your just not Tiki!

TM

C-TIT, at least YOU were there! I think we had an excellent set last night! Good to see you again, bro!

J

Don's isent even close to my area and I was there!

Oh Judy!

Yes the band sounded very tight!
even the new songs sounded very practiced & the fun you guys were having came across
to the crowd too.

But what was the fear in Spike's eyes when I offered to buy him a drink???
And Lucas, were you doing advanced spatial astrophysical calculations during your sets?

Is that what the chalkboard was for?

I do admit to being a bit distracted during the first portion of the set, but soon the cognac was flowing....and the result was no more "astrophysical calculations"...long drive home to, but I got home in time to continue a last few calculations! When I woke up, I was still doing it! (yes, I have a chalkboard in my room, too!)
Oh, and thank you Ms. Judy luck for being there! You and Dinah light up any room you are in!

Math Porn?

I'm not scared of cocktails....but my guitar playing ability is. I can do the beer thing all night long and play fine. One rum barrel and lyrics and chords begin leaving my mind. Maybe I should be pouring my beers into a tiki mug? Man, that sounds wrong....

Wrong? In all the years you have known me, Spike...I doubt you have ever seen me really drink a "tiki" drink! Talk about a traitor to the cause!

Make mine a gin and tonic, scotch on the rocks, brandy , wine or beer!

J

=) thanks lucas

TM

Now, where are the pictures and the videos? I saw a lot of folks snapping away!

TM

ahhhh, here's one!

I have to agree that The Hula Girls in Don the Beachcomber's Dagger Bar is truly spiritual magic! It's like The Dagger Bar's special tiki friendship feeling simply blooms more than ever on those nights. As tikiphiles in SoCal have noticed, they are with us more and more often, without any noticeable decline in attendance. This last week and the week before proved that. If that continues, Spike and I will continue to match up place and music to your enjoyment.
Mahalo for your support! See you tomorrow at the TC Table.
Art

Liar...

Well I saw Doug on Sunday.

Tickets are on sale from The Hula Girls, now! Three bucks off the box office price. I know that it's a big day with Jeff's Surf guitar fest and the ITD beach burn, but hopefully some of you will be able to make it out to see us open for "The King of the Surf Guitar"! He's not gonna be playing a whole ton of shows after this, so catch this living legend while you can!!

Get the tickets here! You help us out every time you buy tickets from The Hula Girls.
