thanks, yea I love that part of the line, sadly whenever I go there the line moves quickly and never goes upstairs!
does anyone know what shade yellow and green the jungle cruise is painted?

I spent several years as a JC Skipper at WDW. It was what originally inspired me to love and embrace the tiki lifestyle. Thanks for this trip down amnesia lane.

had a B-Day party this last weekend, and realized, I needed more room for seating!! so I had to move around a bunch of crates, and stack everything near the AC unit, which blows hot hot air! finally got a chance to use some of my makeshift coolers too!!

Looks great!
I would say the crates are not the problem.
It's those mannequins! They got the best seats in the house.

Here's a song just made for your spot.

if they ever hired me as a JC Skipper...I would defy tradition and only do the original 50's era narration, sans jokes!

I am thinking of putting a large wardrobe crate in my master bedroom to store my sewing table and stuff in. I found a place that offers crates (not sure of the prices) http://www.caseworkscrating.com/crateFurniture.htm I don't need a floor in it as I would want to place my rolling tables inside and move them out when needed. My bedroom is done in an ancient Egyptian theme, so could do some stenciling on the outside to make it look like a true shipping crate.

I was wondering where you get your crates? Is there some way to get them for free somewhere?

VRN, you can usually find ammunition and artillery crates at Army/Navy surplus stores.

I usually find mine at local gun shows, and such, most surplus stores don't carry ammo boxes or crates any more, mostly just metal ammo cans, also try Craigslist key words like box. crate ammo box packing boxes wood box I also find em at flea markets and swap meets too

moving to a new location, coming soon!!!!!!!!

since we r moving to a lace 3 times bigger, with a huge yard (hopefully) Ive already started picking up new pieces, the GF got me these two for Valentines day, but I cant use em till I get to the new place lol.

NICE!!! Will be looking forward to your new build. Thanks for the intel on the crates.

PP

sure thing, if anyone wants some crates, Im gonna start copying the ones I have and build them to order......Ive got about 50 different styles too

PP

Hey all, well my little condo and the Jungle Cruise Lounge sold, in just 3 days too, so Im busy everyweekend looking for a new home of the lounge! luckily, every home Ive looked at have bigger yards than my little patio! found a few places with O'Hannas on them, connected 3 car garages, sun rooms, and more! so many choices, of course the GF is getting frustrated because the first thing I do is starting looking for a tiki space, not how big is the bedroom, or how many bathrooms! lol its fun and frustrating at the same time, but I think I may have narrowed it down to a few fixer uppers with some good 1960s-70s vibe and a real Brady Bunch feel to them...........stay tuned, lol
and thanks all for the kind words and support too

Good luck on the hunt and move!

You may already have this audio to accompany your visuals, but just in case you don't...

LOL I love it...you are looking for the Tiki space...hey we all have our priorities. I always thought I wanted a home that had clearly defined spaces, so when I was looking at models I had one picked out like that. My best friend told me that I needed to go back to the community and look at the model I ended up buying as it was very open...I sure was glad I did that. At the time I had my 50's bamboo bar and the only place it fit was in the living room...ended up being a good floor plan all around. Planning is paramount.

You are smart to think about how your fabulous collection will work in a new space. Best of luck in your adventure.

thanks so much!!!
well I put in a bid for an awesome 1958 built bungalow today, with all original hardware, kitchen, and bathrooms!! It screams 1950s atomic Tiki!!! all on a 8,000 square foot lot! which is 100X bigger than my old pad and tiny yard/patio plus an attached 2 car garage and 3 tiki bedrooms!!!
the great thing is just across the street is a wild animal farm with.......................ZEBRAS!!!!! Im so excited!!!
hope to have some pix this week, keeping my fingers crossed!!!
