Awesome! These lamps you and Woody make are even better than OOH lamps in my opinion. Is the bar/space in this photo your home or are you at Notch's bar? Just wondering! |

Thanks, not doing much these days. I leave cork outside in my pond to age it. Even the old tribe type people used to use dirt and fire, coal, ash ect as a paint of sorts. Good luck!! |

I feel the same way about trying to come up with something original too, Jamie. When I paint tiki bars in my paintings, I always think "instead of putting in another puffer fish lamp, is there something more original I can come up with?" Then I end up painting lanterns instead, ha! |

Thanks for the info, Skip! I actually ordered rattan from them before. I tried making one of those hats that some of the Orchids lamps came with, but it didn't turn out so well. Ha ha! |

Cool looking lamp, Skip! You did a great job on the base. For my puffer lamp I am going to make a base that resembles a piece of a broken shipping crate. |

I like em both but maybe clear a bit more. Don't forget to do some fancy rope tying so you give some interest to the rope as it And here mid page. Good luck!!! [ Edited by: tikiskip 2014-11-21 20:00 ] |

I made the driftwood/shipwrecked base and tied the rope yesterday. The white rope was just to see how it was going to look, I am going to untie it and dye the rope this evening. |

Thanks for posting the pic, Wendy! Your jungle room looks amazing. I really like the ceiling! I am working on a couple other "Orchids inspired" lamps. I am trying to come up with my own designs this time instead of copying stuff that has already been done in past. I am also trying to be respectful to the other lamp builders on here by not doing the same style stuff they're doing. Here are some pics of a few panel inlays I made... |
