Here is the completion of moving in a family of 24 fireflies on to the ceiling of the tiki bar. All of the wiring is hidden behind the Philippine Nipa From the wires behind the Nipa the wires to the fireflies are run between the bamboo reeds and the ceiling. This is a picture of some of the fireflies. To really see how the fireflies are animated I posted a short video on You Tube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0LKlm3dvCc&feature=em-upload_owner The power chord runs down the wall behind this bamboo pole. |

I used to think carving was the most difficult then I realized that coming up wit the right design is equally difficult. Now I believe coming up wit the right colors can be as challenging. |

Thank you tikitube. I really like the different textured mats you're using for your tiki bar Lanai at Windsong. The one thing I wished I had is a raised ceiling. |

That looks fantastic, MaukaHale! The colors and textures and layers... wow. You've got the whole "something to continuously catch the eye" thing down to an art. What's amazing is that you've accomplished this without the traditional tiki clutter approach. Your Aloha Theater looks clean and orderly and utterly immersive. Your custom frames are quite nice, too. I'm going to need a number of custom frames sooner or later, so I'm taking notes on your efforts. |

I recently returned from a trip to the Marquesas Islands. In one of the local museums they had some interesting trim using Marquesas symbols. I'm going to use those in new trim I'm designing to go around the entry way between the tiki bar and home theater. |

I also made some lowbrow art to go with it. I'm not completely pleased with the red piece of wood. I may make some changes to it. |

I've decide to create a few WITCO inspired tiki masks. Instead of using a chainsaw I'm using a router. These are the first three of seven. They still need stain and sealer. I'll probably put them on the patio outside the Aloha Theater and Tiki Bar.
