sounds like a group is starting in fla
these chops are so cool ,yesterday we had about 14 people with
some of the best carvers on tc,but also clay, plunge router, wax,
rope from vines, hook knife, and everyone is so willing to share
and teach,i would never have gotten into carving if i had not seen
these guys at a chop,
so to all a big thanks!!!!

B

The full body carving is looking sweet!

Does that mask say "Disguise, Inc" on it? Take a look.

B

bowana
it does say disguise on the top

Ha ha! Not quite! It's the mask for our Cryptkeeper costume. It was sculpted by our fabulous mask dept. although I cannot take credit for this one.

I'm glad your Tiki likes it!

B

Cool Incognito tiki with the great Body and slick Hair. Can't wait till he removes the mask!

do it without the help from tc

Buzzard, the toes hanging over was a great touch! The stain turned out really nice. What's next for you?

B

been toying with the idea of making one of these
guys into a fountain
got a pump from homy d for $23,and a cool rock bowl for $25
so for $45 this guy is a fountain

he has souch a smile on his face that he looks at
home taking a pee
but i'm kind of a newbe,is this not good to do to your tiki?
what do you think?

Actually it looks more to me like he's trying to pass a kidney stone  Nice work on the carving!

Aloha Buzzard! That is a very nice Tiki?fountain my friend. Keep it up ,aloha Mooney

S

Your call on the tiki fountain I don't see any
prob with doing that.

That is Great! I would put that guy in the center of my front yard. His face has that look of when you wait to long after drinking far to many beers. Outstanding.

Love how the stain turned out on this guy!! I love the fountain idea. I don't know if you'll have problems with the wood getting wet - you may need to use a marine varnish.

B

Check you out Buzzard! These turned out wonderfully!

B

babalu, thanks for the help with the shotglasses,i would
like to try more

picked up 7 6ft logs from a treecutter but was so excited
i forgot to look closely at the wood and only one log is good
another lesson learned

been carving at the beach and its been really great
bought a wagon to haul my stuff down

new tiki done

Bob, I like that new one a lot!

In pic #3, I can see the lifeguardmobile approaching to write you guys up.

I forget the guy's name you're carving with, but I'd like to see a beter pic of the one he's working on.

B

Cool Stuff and Tons of Fun you're having. Hope you get more logs because I think you are on a roll.

Hey........I wanna carve at the beach!

B

i asked the lifeguards if it was ok and they said no problem
we work on tarps so we can haul the chips to a firepit

4w,his name is johny, the only pic i have is the one in the middle above
it is pretty cool, looks like we have another carver hooked

me and tiki tomas were talking about chopping on the beach
anybody that wants to come play, let me know, will probly be there

as a real lono

radd stuff BB! be sure to post a pic of the hybrid moai when the teak is dry

B

thanks tt
its had a week to dry,but its still shiny,my full body guy was the same way
but he dulled up after a month or so

got some work done on my place in az

put a top on the bar

also made a simple tiki out of a piece of wood my friend gave me
i did not have my chisels so i used a crowbar and hammer

B

S

Yes, Nice work! your stain work turned out nice.

Me really like the Lono you have in work
this guy is a keeper.

B

thanks seeks, your work has really inspired me to try the big guys
just got a new stash of wood, but with it getting dark a 5 it looks like its
weekends only for awhile,so this wood should last a long time
guess its time to get a hook knife and move indoors

B

had this piece of wood that i found about 2 yrs
ago that kind of looks like a mug
now that im learning how to carv ,i decided to give it a go
as a tiki mug,i think it is oak,its really hard
