$14 mai tais!

Yeah, you'd think they were in a high rent district or something.

On the bright side Unga, no flaming drinks for you to worry about! :)

aren't the Mai Tais in EmmeryVille $14.

I know its a bit of money, but I'd rather Pay 12 to 15 bucks for a great drink. than 6 to 8 bucks for a horrible drink.

(most the time)you get what you pay for.

My argument has always been a Trader Vic's drink is better than 2 drinks somewhere else so I don't mind.

I asked John about the price of a Mai Tai. It hasn't been set yet. I too would like to see a high quality Mai Tai offered like the $100.00 Mai Tai that the Bum suggests. $14.00 will be a bargain for their Mai Tai as John informs me that the bar manager he is hiring is a true mixologist and will only use fresh ingredients and good rum. ZPersonally I agree with Boris, I will pay more for quality.
The hula dancers will more than make up for the extra if there is any. I also heard that they have the ultimate consultant for TVLA. I'm not sure if I can tell it now so I'll wait for an OK but believe me when I say, everyone who reads this will be excited when I do.

Tim, yes if you are thinking who I am thinking of, the advisor is probably THE BEST IN THE WORLD hands down.

A celebrated author on the subject of tiki, perhaps ?

I don't know anything, i'm just guessin'.

O

The website has an email address posted for sending contact info to pre-order the mug. Is this still in effect? I sent off my info last week but I haven't heard from anyone.

I'm still starving for some great Trader Vic's food! Hurry up John!!

Does anyone know how I could get my hands on the clam bowls they serve the bongo bongo soup in?

Flaming... Beef... CHO - CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOs...!

Please.

And I'll try to love again...

S  K

I was there recently and had both their flaming cocktail in a Tiki Mug, as well as the flaming chocho as the pupu. There was hula, too!

Amazing and wonderful time. I felt as if I was at a Luau, but better as it is here at home, and more Tiki!

Looks like the Trader Vic's Los Angeles is closed...again. Now they are down to just 3 US locations.
