I think it's time for another chop, and September should be a nice time of year to hit the Lagoon for one last chop before it gets too cold.

Who's in?

I am not doing anything for All Hallows Eve. That being said, I suggest that we wait to discuss it further after the Lagoon Chop. The last chop of the summer. It is only a week and a half away.

Will there be TJ dogs again? :)

I'll be there.

Hmm, TJ dogs!?

How about E.T. burgers from the Galaxy Grill? Officially it is a Rory burger.

Yes Hank, you're invited.

Anyone going to the chop that knows how to do a 4 strand braid? I need to learn

Yeah I think Wahine Toni can do one Mike.

is this a Chop
or a girly girl tea party,Mike?

I wanna braid a bullwhip :D

PS - You coming down Kinny?

[ Edited by: MadDogMike 2009-09-14 18:46 ]

i used up all my San Diego miles lately....
Actually, if the wifey doesn't deliver my 6x4 footer to Hank this week
I may be down your area on Sunday...

a bullwhip?
Mike, you are the Freak of the Week!

Comeon Kinny! The waters fine...

And more roomy than your pool.

So any newbs or out of towners coming? (besides Kate and Mike)

Hank, what should we bring?

Why Bill? Were you going to work up some sort of initiation rite? :D  :D

Bring whatever you want to work on!

Lawn chairs are good... a beverage of you choice (we'll have at least two coolers) and the usual Potluck Pu Pus or enjoy one of the resturants within walking distance.

If you don't want to carve maybe we can organize differnt tents for different mediums. Don't want to be arty at all? Bring your board or raft and surf MB's break or float around the lagoon. There's a playground within view of The Pilothouse for keeping an eye on the kiddies.

Those interested in Grilling know that I have only a rusty WEBER from 1986. Grillmeisters are welcome to bring whatever crazy-ass flaming devices they like.

Boozing is prohibited on city property but I have two cocktail friendly areas on my property although seasoned choppers know that alcohol and tools lead to emergency room visits.

ATTN: Anyone hording logs this is the time to share the wealth!

All are welcome @ Hodaddy Lagoon but save the drama for your mama.

These two clowns are rumored to be making the trek down to the Chop
around 9-ish Sunday morning...
after Kwawfee!

There is also this option:

Bring your intertubes! You can probably get around the smoking ban by being on the intertubes too. No more standing in the hedge.

Zaya can't make this one but I should be there.
Buzzy Out!

MadDogMike gonna dance at this one?

B

Mike if your gonna do that fire dance thingy you do, don't forget the protective wear...

I wasn't planning to dance, but I may bring Teriyaki Jerky Pineapple Ice Cream :P

Does anyone have one of those Flexcut Slipstrops that I can borrow? I think I'm going to work on something small this month, and my palm tools are really dull. I promise to buy one for myself next week. :)

Damn I forgot it's football season! :o Who scheduled this thing on a SUNDAY???

Maybe someone can bring a radio so us Charger fans can catch the game at 1:15?

So far, it's not going to be on TV...

The Associated Press
12:02 p.m. September 17, 2009

  • AP SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Chargers and Detroit Lions were given extensions by the NFL on Thursday to sell out their home openers and avoid a television blackout.
The Chargers said they have about 1,100 tickets remaining for their game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Buzzy Out!

That's why I said radio.

Damn LLT! I was responding to Buzzy!

Too slow by seconds!

stupid sports fans....

wish we had more rabid ART fans....

dibs on a spot by the radio!

[ Edited by: tikithomas08 2009-09-17 15:14 ]

T

Well you just might have a problem hearing the radio over the roar of unlimited hydroplane racing in MB. This just may be the most gridlocked weekend of the year around the bay. Good luck on parking and such.

4

Oh, it IS this weekend! But it's on the east side of the bay, so the beach side shouldn't be any worse than a typical July or August Sunday, I figure. But it will be loud!
Also gonna be warm, maybe 80s.

Oy, not again.

Hey I forgot to mention its BYOHP (bring your own hydroplane).

Mine's ready to go...

Hey hank!
How early can we show up?
Is 9-ish too early?

Thanks Mike but with all the frickin football and hydroplanes I'll probably be WIDE AWAKE!

9am is to early for TJ dogs. Unless, or course, you haven't made your way across the border yet.

9am could be great for parking though.

Kate: I'm bringing the slip strop sharpening thingie.

I think I have an alarm clock with an FM radio, but it'll need to be plugged in. Hopefully someone has something on batteries - definitely bad scheduling on my part. It did get sold out, so if someone had a TV - or maybe we can walk over to Guava Beach or a bar to watch some of the game. :)

Thanks, Mieko.

I'm running a little late. I'll be there in about an hour.

Great Chop, thanks Hank - good to see everyone! Thanks for being good sports and trying my jerky ice cream, did you find your audio gift? :D

MMMMMMM...Thanks King of TJ Mr. Red!

Avoided that beef jerky Ice Cream of Mad Dog's...
I imagine it tasted as awful as that CD he burnt for the crew!
Small World?
Who Let the Dogs Out?
Yellow Submarine?
Do you really wanna hurt me?
Whip It?
One song i aint never heard...
Cotton Eyed jow-but not by Bob wills and the Texas Playboys
She Move song i ain't never heard.. is that the one that Asian guy sings that people make fun of?
Candyman? Sammy had much better songs than that!

Let me make YOU a CD Mike!
It'll pull you right out of that musical mire you're struggling in!

Upon leaving lovely San Diego
Toe and i discovered my back license plate and registration stickers stolen in the parking lot!
I just hope some clown doesn't pull a Hit-N-Run with that plate on his car!
That act of blatant thievery was ALMOST as bad as Mike's Musical Taste!
and Bill's Sports Fetish!
I'm supergluing my next plate on there! :)

Anyway's despite that, the jerky ice cream (an abomination to nature,i say!) and Mike's odd musical selection on that CD, i would have to say it was a GREAT event! :)

Thanks for all the love,Choppers!
:)

Ken we didn't get much time to chat, we ended up on opposite ends of the compound. But I'm glad you enjoyed the ice cream and the music :D (the Devo was for you)

YOU ARE TOO MUCH,MIKE!

WHATS WRONG WITH DEVO? and once again another awesome chop, though i didnt get much work done
