Toy Story 3 Tiki Mug

I ran across this online and a search on TC didn't show anything:

Anybody know who sculpted &/or manufactured these?

LT

I was expecting to see something cheesy but this is a really nice mug. The sculpt and glaze selection are great. With 500 of these made I'm surprised that there's been no word of these before today.

A few TC members actually worked on Toy Story 3. I see one of them often, so I'll see if he knows anything. Since it specifically says "Crew" I'm guessing those are the only folks who got one.

These were designed by someone at Pixar and produced by Munktiki. They were given to Pixar employees. None were made available to the public.

I was expecting some lame coffee mug, too. Those are seriously cool!

L

My friend works for PIXAR and worked on TS3.

I am going to have to ask him about this mug since I know he isn't into tiki.

VERY COOL!
Seriously Toy Story is/was awesome and the mug is great... I was expecting a lame version as well.. Kinda looked muntikish on the bottom..
The search is on now...

Here's some more info..

Looks like it was commissioned by Lee Unkrich "a known Tiki-aficionado". Didn't BooBen fix up his bedroom and/or office?

I think this is the remodel you mean here:

I've put three early un-numbered glaze samples of this mug up for auction on eBay to benefit Japan Earthquake Relief.

These mugs were, indeed, produced by Munktiki.

That's AWESOME Lee!!

and what a great collectable mug..

Well these bad boys certainly went for a bargain. The most i've seen a Munktiki mug go for was just under $500. I don't think we'll be seeing these sorts of prices for a Munktiki mug for a while.

So I wonder if it was a tiki collector or a Toy Story / Pixar collector that bought these..

Posted my three toy story test color mugs for charity as well.
Check em out!

Tried bidding on these but they quickly went out of range of what I could afford, which is a good thing since it's for charity. Good job sir!!!!

I was at Trader Sam's last week. I sat at the bar. Looking at the shelves on the left where they have always had mugs, it looks like there are a few new ones, and on the top shelf, it looked like there was a Toy Story 3 mug. I'll try to verify next time I go.

I think you're right. I've seen it too.

They have two of them, I believe: one for each side to show off.
