Wow everything looks great, I think the neighbors are just jealous, or just afraid they may break down and have a good time and enjoy themselves.

Sad, the way things are today you would think people would be happy when someone improves their property instead of bringing down the neighborhood. I think some people just love to bitch about anything.

When it's nice weather I would sleep out in the loft, second honeymoon ? :D

Yeah, we had the house painted right before Thanksgiving and we slept in the loft. It was awesome waking up out there. The thatch roof is the key - really exotic and feeling like you weren't in Georgia! Right now it doesn't feel like that either....freezing

Wow, I just saw all the pictures of your home hut. That is really gorgeous!
Congrats on winning the fight!

Aloha! yes I won the fight and nobody got hurt...lucky for the grouchy old guy. Thanks for the kind words

Mahalo Y'all

Hey there! Great pics!! Love the hut! I'd like to ask you a few things about the weather and leaving things outside? I'm in Georgia too (about 3 hrs or so south of you) and I am wanting to build a hut/bar beside my pool, but I was concerned about how the heat and humidity and temp changes would affect my rums and other alcohol out there, as well as all my tiki collectibles. Do you leave everything outside in your bar or store it inside til you need it? Have you had any problems with weather affecting any of you tiki items in the bar? I'd appreciate any input :)

I read all your posts about the problems you were having with neighbors. I am very lucky in that although I live in "BFE", I don't really have any neighbors close by and we don't have all the restrictions and building codes and stuff here. Plus, I have 12 acres and can do pretty much anything LOL! Sometimes the country has a few benefits. Thanks!

Wow what I beautiful tiki room/bar/building. Great work. Just beautiful.

Thanks for the kind words - to answer your questions - yes all the items I have in my bar have been there since the beginning 3 years ago. Nothing signicant has been damaged - rum is not an issue - just depends on your design and water tightness - go to my blog to see more building tips and ideas

I spent my Easter Sunday moving 3 tons of rock and retaining wall blocks down the back hill and built the koi pond and waterfall I first envisioned 3 years ago after finishing the hut. Enjoy the picks and check out more on the blog http://www.tikirancher.blogspot.com

Oh, what a wonderful oasis! The discussion of weather made me think it might be a particularly pleasant place to be in a rainstorm. Cozy!

Wow what a summer - Tiki Oasis 2014 was a fucking blast! loved meeting y'all out west and had an amazing time and visited Oceanic Arts, Don the Beachcomber, Bali Hai, Mort's Liquor, and all kind of cool places my great guide Gregg hooked up a brother. WE cruised in his 51 chopped and bagged Fuzzbox and hit the Oasis in style. Got to meet a lot of cool peeps from Instagram - follow tikirancher for more TO pics! A couple of new shots from the Hut!

Look what the rancher found a couple of weeks ago...now to just paint it black!

Wow...nice work on the Koi Pond, your place is really fabulous. GREAT JOB!!!

Aloha to the west coast tiki tribes I met last year at Oasis, made some great friends and look forward to returning this year. Tiki Rancher is back from a long hiatus over the holidays. Hope everyone in tiki land had a great new year and ready to drink some rum in 2015...Deadhead rum has finally hit the shelves in GA. thank the gods. Here are some new pics from the Ranch including updated pics of the hideous purple ford I post last fall. Check it all out the blog http://www.tikirancher.blogspot.com Mahalo

Way cool name for your way cool tikibar.

Tikirancher - you are doing something so right. Keep on keep on! Us apartment people have to wait our turn...but one day..!

GREAT job, Rancher! Your place is freakin' AWESOME! Really gorgeous work and I'm so jealous!

The ONLY missing touch, in my view, is a nice big float-light (either blue, green or purple for a nice contrast) hanging from the end of the pole in front at the apex of the A-frame, shining its light down on the slanted roof of the thatched awning/portico.

Hope I get to pay you a visit there some day!

Anyway, Cheers and Maholo! :drink:

We're in the midst of a treehouse build, inspired by Swiss Family Robinson, but that mimics much of what you accomplished! I must say, your pesky neighbor did not play his hand very well. Would've gone for the bring my crazy tiki hut neighbor a nice bottle of rum to christen the new digs route, but that's just me!
