My guest on Wednesday night's Ray Boylan Show (LATalkRadio.Com - 6pm PST) was Sherman Chan. Sherman is a classically trained Cantonese chef, who is in charge of the culinary side of the Tonga Hut, Palm Springs, which opens to the public this afternoon at 4pm. I'm not exactly impartial on the subject but it is Spectacular. The feedback from the soft opening was overwhelmingly overwhelmed. :wink:

Great interview Ray. But my burning question was "Where did that name come from?" She is not what I would picture of a "Sherman".

In the pre-interview I asked her. Her initial response was that "my parents thought I was built like a tank" :wink:
Sherman is a close English approximation of her actual Chinese name.

It is great news to have a mid-century modern Tiki bar in Palm Springs.

Certainly will lure me to Palm Springs someday...not in the summer though. Looks totally awesome.
