Hi! Here are several new products in the retro line from Disney. Products are at the China Closet on Main Street. They are not on line yet but can be ordered over the phone from merchandise services @ 1-877-560-6477. They also have wine glasses but I didn't include the picture. I believe the highball glasses are 12.95. Martini Glasses 14.95 I couldn't download pics so go to this blog and scroll down. If you order over the phone it can take 3 weeks to get the product.

What makes you think these were designed by Shag? Not only do they not carry his style but his name doesn't appear anywhere on the merchandise, which is always the case with his work. These I believe are just generic Parks merchandise, you can see more below:

I don't think Shag or Kevin Kidney/Jody Daily designed any of the new items.
Some of the items are available through http://www.disneystore.com. Just search for 'tiki' or 'Adventureland'.
I went into the Disney Store in Downtown Disney this past weekend and they had quite a few items available there too. Pillows, throws, napkins, bowls, vase/mug, plates, etc.

the fact that the products are from Shag is info that was given to me by the china closet store and merchandise guest services. If I am wrong I apologize. In other words I didn't pull that info out of my ass.

The reason I didn't think it was Shag or Kevin Kidney/Jody Daily was they usually post on their Facebook pages and blogs when they've designed something new.
None of the Disney pages said they had designed the works and they usually do. I do believe that a cast member told you it was created by Shag.
Needless to say, whomever (whoever?) designed the new merchandise did a good job. Smart merchandising by Disney. Not everyone wants to buy the plastic toys that are all over the park.

When I called to purchase the glasses I just really liked the tomorrowland design. I didn't even think anything about shag, just liked the retro look. I probably shouldn't have repeated what they said. My bad. I read most of the blogs looking for new items. The new store called centerpiece sounds like a pretty neat store once it opens.

I'll be happy for any drinkware that's actually food safe, as I've had some doubts about my green Frankoma coconuts and various red glazes that have been produced even recently!

Probably a bit overcautious, but once that doubt sets in, it's hard to get out.

Too many of my nice mugs are confined to display status. Where I love them, don't get me wrong, but ....
