Whanga Rei Bar & Grill in Turlock, Ca.

Pages: 1 7 replies

Whanga Rei Bar & Grill (Maori....Cherish Harbor) is now under construction and being retrofitted into an existing building. Just met the owner, he wants some HUGE tikis that can be seen from Highway 99 as well as some smaller ones inside. Looks like I'll be very busy carving this summer. I was skeptical that it would work till I discovered the owner already has a hugely successful restaurant in downtown Modesto named Sharkey's Crab Shack. Tiki is coming back around and it's coming to my town. I'm blown away!

That's great! More tiki in the neighborhood! What kind of restaurant is it going to be?

Great new JT!
You get more work and we get more tiki!

Cool deal, JT!

Post some pix while you carve 'em so we can gawk!

Hey Woo, not sure about the menu but if you go into Sharky's....you might find out. The owner said Maori style.....check out the "Locating Tiki" thread I started on it. A little more info there.
