I forgot to ask, but since this is a new venture for me, any input, pro or con, is appreciated. I have thick skin and don't hold a grudge so don't hold back. Ideas for future strips are also welcome.

Thanks.

This makes #4. Where does the time go?

I like the shrunken head strip best!
Keep up the good work.
Pea

Thanks Sweetpea, but I think August's may vie to be your favorite. Stay tuned.

Bump for August

B

Love it Raffertiki. I was wondering if there was going to be an august. I'm not sure which one I like the best, they're allso good. I think you should make it a 4 box strip and sell it to the news papers syndicate, or whoever those guys are.
We want more. we want more of Other stuff too. Moremoremoremore.

Raffertiki, I'm just waiting for old hulk-tiki to finally impress one of the ladies - he's been lurking around, dropping tiki mugs and being a loner way too long!

Thanks Ben & Sam.

Ben, I can only handle one a month right now. Syndication with have to wait until the ideas start rolling in faster.

Sam, the Beachcomber's troubles are going to continue into the next installment. He'll have to wait a bit before he gets lucky.

#6 is up, and introduces some new characters. Let me know what you think?

B

This is a good one. Will make you think when you take that drink mug home. Who's family are you braking up?Yes

Yes, it's often all too sudden for the poor tiki mugs. Lovers seperated, families torn apart. How do we sleep at night?

T

I think it is time to think about calendar! Those are hilarious!

A tear-jerker panel! I can't believe it - will the story continue? Maybe like a soap opera? Great job Raffertiki!

The Beachcomber is still in a rut when it comes to women. Like Sam G. says, he's due for a break. Maybe next time. This one was inspired by a thread here on TC from a few months ago, but I can no longer find it.

B

Mr Beachcomber really has a knack wityh the wahines doesn't he. If he keeps it up he may be happily married by the time he's 70 or so?
Cool Dude

Yeah, he knows just what to say to leave them begging for more. Some guys just have natural charisma! :)

I didn't think I'd get this one in in time, but now I can take my vacation in England without worries, mate. I will probably be scarce for the rest of the month.

I took Sam G's advice this time to cut the beachcomber a little slack.

Have fun in Fla all you Hukalites.

Thanks Raffer, have a Nice trip over there. Just don't come home with any funny accent.

Blimey, yo.

Have a great trip, raffertiki. I just got back from visiting with Hurricane Ivan, so I just saw the last installment of MOTM today. It's great! Finally, our man has the ladies riveted with his musical talents! My idea for the next one is an encore with him doing a hauntingly beautiful ukelele rendition of "Smoke On the Water".

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. Marooned #9 was inspired by a "Tofurkey" my wife made for Thanksgiving one year.

I see that our boy is a meat freak. No soy products for him - a real man's man! Another cool panel, Raffertiki.

A spooky tale of an escape plan gone horribly wrong.

Having fun with your strip, Raffertiki. Keep 'em coming!

Thats a good one Raffertiki. Beware of the curse of the pineapple!
Yoinks!
Chongolio

Thanks Aaron's and Chongolio for the good words.

Another cool panel, Raffertiki... I love those tropical Jack-O-Lanterns!

Sam, just remember, the Pine-O-Lanterns have a short shelf life. Keep 'em outside.

Where in a few short days they will magically transform into a fruit fly-o-lantern. Which can be quite mesmerizing when lit candles are involved.

Happy Halloween,
Chongolio

Happy Halloween! (A shameless excuse for a bump, but the sentiment is genuine.)

This one's all about timing, or lack of. So it is with yard sales.

http://www.nicefishy.com

I love this one... I mean, this poor guy just can't win. I'm beginning to really feel for him! He's seconds late for getting a break on some cool mugs, and he can't even enjoy a plate of roasted pork without getting a mouthful of tofu. What next????? Very entertaining, Raffertiki! I enjoy these.

Thanks Sam, but not only does he miss out on a nice score for cheap, but the kid that beat him to it has a slingshot in his pocket. He wouldn't, or would he?

Oh, I hadn't looked at that possibility. With this guy's luck, I say he would!

T

Great stuff as always Raff. I loved the video of the drink being made, you could do a whole DVD of drink recipes that way, but I think after the 3 or 4 I would probably not be able to read the screen anymore.

You know Toa- you could be on to something there!

You know how there are cooking shows? Why not a drink mixology show? Here's how we could approach it...

Why not make a compilation DVD where members of Tiki central share their favourite drink recipe (original or vintage creations) in their tiki bar?

Each person could get like, 3 minutes to show off their bar and then share how to make their libation. Members would be encouraged to keep their delivery full of Fun and Chutzpah.
It would probably be best if one person/crew videoed (is that a word?) everyone, but that may not be necessary with a good video editor who could make the whole thing more cohesive. Editing with music and titles (like Raffertiki has on his video) would be done by one editor.

Hey, I'd buy it.

A compilation DVD sounds awesome, but I already have enough projects waiting to get the attention of publishers and/or producers. I hope one of you guys take up this idea, and runs with it. I will even help out with some clips. In the meantime, I will continue to post random tikified footage in a most laidback fashion. I'm thinking a clip of the Fishermen at Otto's Shrunken Head is a possibility.

B

Raffertiki, your last "Marooned" is sick. How could you let his mugs get popped off by a sling-shot. He's gotta be having a heart attack. The Big one.
These are really getting great!

Thanks Benz. I have more in store for the hapless Beachcomber. Stay tuned.

How are things going by you? I think we're all itchin' to see your latest creations.

B

Thanks Raffertiki.
The fence is mostly done. I have to build 2 gates and paint the whole deal but the fence is UP! HooRay
Maybe you should start a "Daily" Marooned, huh huh huh please??? Make us all Happy happy happy

Ben, the ideas are coming, but not yet at one a day. In the meantime, here's #12.

B

Man, this guy has to own a Lot of complexes. I don't know if I would be able to go on being treated like crap every day by everyone. One day he's gonna wake up and these people are gonna be in trouble. But I guess it won't be funny any more then, will it?

Great panel, Raffertiki. My guess is that he gets the pics developed, then carries them with him from now on telling everyone about the wild time he had with "these 2 'hot chicks' "! Very entertaining, Raffertiki!

Ben, It's kind of like Charlie Brown never kicking the football. The Beachcomber lives on the ocean, and hangs at tiki bars. He doesn't have it so bad.

I like your positive thinking Sam, like making a Pina Colada out of pineapple juice.

Dec. 1 he gets to go snorkeling. What could possibly happen?

B

He finds the girls in the "Picture". ... . with his brother??

Ben, would I do that?

B

Of course not, you aren't that mean
