YAY!!!!!! GROG want!

INCREDIBLE play with light and colors...superb. I can only imagine the original is a sight to behold! A playful swim for the eyes, with golden treasure and big blue danger lurking in the shadows...

BRILLLIANT!!! :D
Flip-flOp-fLipPp...

Incredibly good news for TSA fans like me!

(WTF? Only two responses so far???!!!)

I'll PM you. Thought of you and this painting just yesterday Brad while watching Deep Blue Sea on tee vee.... it's about giant "smart sharks" that jump out of the water and eat Samuel F*cking Jackson.

I thought his name was Samuel L Jackson....
Great print choice Brad! I'm sure you'll sell 'em all!
KonaBoys Rule!

There may be only a couple of responses here, but i'm sure that people have pm'd Tikishark and just not left a message here too. I mean really. Who WOULDN'T want one of these??

My request has been sent off now. Yay! :)

Yeah, Deep Blue, I love dat movie. It's got reeeeaally stupid plot points, but AWESOME mechanical sharks! However, I think they made the digital sharks move too fast though. And...I thought his name was Samuel F-ing Jackson. -and here's my star sighting story- I ran into him once, a loooong ago on the Santa Monica 3rd street promenade. Mr. Jackson was sitting at a restaurant on the patio, eating with some friends. I was walking towards him, and was staring at him, trying to recall who he was, then suddenly... he looked up at me! (doh!) I recognized him, but totally freaked and couldn't look away! Total "deer in head lights - stalker fan" look I'm sure. Then, he did the coolest thing. He just gave me a slight smile and a nod and went back to talking to his friends. Yeah, he's just cool! But, it WAS great when the shark munched him in Deep blue.
Anyways, ....prints!

They look completely like the original. The blues came out perfect. I'm very happy with them.
Thanks to everyone who's ordering them. You'll all be happy to know, I'm completely organized. (now)
This just in... I take Pay Pal too!
Aloha from the Big Island!

Beautiful print Brad! Just sent you a PM.

Gotta have one of those. Save one for me Brad

So I took one to the prints to get framed, here in Kona. The nice lady behind the counter really got a kick out of the image and asked who the artist was. I told her I was. And she gave me a funny look. I guess she didn't believe me. I was in kind of a hurry so I just shrugged it off. After I picked out the bamboo frame and the mat, I gave her my card as I was leaving. She snicker and said, I get it, you have the same name as the artist! - !?!- I don't know if she thought I was kidding her or what...
Oh well, Check out my web site I have a gallery page on it now. More like a gallery section. My web master however, ran into a snag on getting the ordering info up for the prints. Still in progress!

Big Aloha!

Man thats funny! From her perspective its funny that an artist would get a print of their own work framed. But when you think of it, its not so weird, 'cause that way you can sell the original and still have a copy... :) Do you sign and number your own print?

Hewey~
No, I do not sign or number my art prints myself. I have trained my pet lizard Groggy to do all that for me. Soon, He will do all the painting too! :)

HEY TC,
I picked up the framed print of #9 today. It came out very nice! Not the way hip framing like at Frame Fetish back in California, but, still looks really good. Wonder how outragous it would cost to have stuff shipped there and back to get it framed? Hmmm

And, the lady at the store totally got that I was the artist this time. She was very excited to have me there. Guess they had been enjoying the print. It was by far the wackiest art in the shop. Here in Kona they have a lot of serious looking Hawaiian art, unlike mine!
Aloha from the Volcano~

That looks killer TikiShark. I definitely dig the frame. Today Link got the print you sent him. I'll post some photos when he's done working his voodoo.

Cool! I can't wait! Like you said, Link has the framing VOODOO!

Wait a Second... If you live on the Big Island, isn't your friend here illegal?

Can I get one without the tounge in the eels mouth? I've never seen an eel with a toungue.

Mauitiki~I know. My friend looks alot like an illegal iguana, but in reality he's a toy poodle with a bad skin problem. So, no worries!

TS,

Mystic Tiki acquired some mana from Link at Frame Fetish. Link's outstanding and easy to work with.

WOW! Link has really done a cool job framing your print! Beats the frame I got on mine hands down! Way cool!
Thanks Alohacurrent for posting these beautiful shots!

T'was a pleasure to frame this great print, the better the art, the easier it is for me to create something special for it!

I met with Ken Ruzic today to frame one of his groovy originals for "Traveling Jones" & we were talking about the genuine people that are on Tiki Central, I can always count on the sincere quality of business with the tiki society, there is something to be said about the positive mentality & spirit. It makes my job much easier when there is an element of enthusiasm, it inspires my best work.

Thanx again to all I have had the pleasure to associate with here at "Tiki Central"!

Frame Fetish,
The honor is mine! I've never seen framing as creative and exciting as yours. I'm seriously thinking of having all my future pieces shipped to you for framing and then shipped back - damn the cost! And I'm still not completely sure how you're doing what you do. I think it's all extremely exact mat cutting, or are you painting over mats... what ever it is it's an amazing effect. I'm gonna watch your thread or LLT's for shots of what you do with Ken's piece! Please post em if you get a chance!
Mahalo ~

Brad!
David Link is da Man! You should have him do your work up right, everytime!
His showroom if full of Beautifully Displayed Shag,Disney and other marvels, all framed and matted to perfection! The man understands the art,the colors and the effect that a great presentation brings to a piece! I know TravellingJones will be quite pleased with David's work! And did I mention he's a nice guy! If you have a print or drawing that needs a real special frame, mat, and presentation, then David is your man! Did I mention he also is making some Furniture? it's so great to see how everyone is slightly connected around here by a thin looooooooooooooong thread! Talk about Small World,I knew his brother Bad Otis Link back in the day when I was a younger artist, and he always showed me encouragement and support, even letting me hang up some of my meager attempts at art in his shop in Fullerton, IRON COW! Wow! Small Freakin World!
Hip little photo you posted by the way!

Dirty? Or Jealous?

OOHHH! Hip Crowd!

Hey Hey Tiki Central, It's ALOHA Friday!
And What does that mean? Well, it meant that after a really busy week of tracking Beach Towels across the globe, chasing after clients to cough up the dough for the merc they ordered, and designing my first line of Tee Shirts (the second time!), that me and the whole Tiki Shark Hawaii crew took off and went to the beach. Yes, all two of us went to enjoy the water at our local beach: Magic Sands beach. It's called that cause winter storms wash all the sand out. Then, in spring, mild waves bring it all back in and the beach reappears - magically!
It also means that I put another nifty combo of a Fine Tiki Art Print and an Original Tiki Sketch up on E-bay! See, a while back I thought it would be cool to offer up a bit of original art every "aloha" Friday. Of course I've been so darned busy, I haven't had the time to do it but once before. However, the buyer was so excited about getting some orginal art I thought It was worth doing again. So here's this COMBO...

Giclee of Mystic Tiki #9 (as seen in Tiki Magazine)

And the orginal sketch.
You can gawk a the auction here...

Big Aloha from the Big Island

Aloha Tiki Central,
Hey I didn't get to post an "Aloha Friday" E-bay auction, cause once again I was too busy. We had a good friend in town from the mainland for a few days. He works at My Space, and he finally talked me into setting up a My Space page. You can check out all it's geeky tiki-ness here: http://www.myspace.com/Lotus_Land
So after we dropped him off at the airport, I had a chance to post a new auction. One of the things up for grabs is a print of "Zombie Dance". This was a glossy print I made up for my art show last Nov. 50 were printed, and numbered, and signed. I sold all but 8 of them. Then , in the move out here to Hawaii, I kind of forgot about them. I feel bad, because recently someone asked me if any were left, and I said no. (Sorry!) While I was rooting around in the garage full of stuff I haven't unpacked yet, I found a mailing tube with the last prints inside. So I put together a Triple Treat auction:

Fine Art Giclee of Mystic Tiki #9: The Sunken Tiki

Glossy Print of "Zombie Dance"

And Original colored pencil drawing "Cannibal Bird"
Why list all three in one auction? Honestly, because I'm lazy. Listing all these things, and checking on them, all takes time. And Basically I'd rather be painting or at the beach!
So, check out the auction here...
