So, I've been wanting to make a menehune juice. The times I've been to Vics and ordered it, I thought it was pretty similar to a mai tai. But I figured it couldn't possibly be the same drink. I didn't know where to start with the drink because I figured I'd either be making a mai tai (not that that's a bad thing), or I'd be missing something really subtle, like 1/8 tsp of pernod. Then I ran across this post by Dr. Z in another thread:
Now I'm wondering if anyone has a variation on this, maybe a recipe from a different printing of the TV bartenders guide? |

A 1980's era United Airlines First Class menu I recently uncovered among my past flight souvenirs, features both Trader Vic's Mai Tais and Trader Vic's Menehune Juice...and according to that, the only difference is White Rum in the Menehune and Dark Rum in the Mai Tai. There are also these from Trader Vic's own web site that I captured just before they shut down the recipe page a couple of months ago:
...and the only difference I see there besides the dark/light rums...is cubed ice vs. crushed...and some garnish differences. But I'm far from an expert in such matters. I usually don't make 'em. I just drink 'em! [ Edited by: PremEx 2006-11-28 13:57 ] |

Thanks a million for the info there. That was definitely helpful. I'm making menehune juice tonight! I've even got some menehunes to use for swizzles-- souvenirs from my last Vic's visit. |

That's interesting to be sure. When visiting TV's in Scottsdale a few months ago, I had a Mai Tai, and my girlfriend had a Menehune Juice. I drank mine and about half of hers, and never would have guessed that they were basically the same, although I could tell that they were similar (ie, the use of Orgeat). Good to know! Chris |

Well, I had a Menehune juice at Trader Vic's in Scottsdale a while back and Juice of 1 lime Apply the lime juice to a tumbler full of ice (cubes). I find that I always need to tweak the measures, especially after I start This recipe is closest to that first Menehune Juice at Trader Vic's so I Incidentally, I was recently in Maui and asked for a Menehune Juice Finally we went to Mama's FH one afternoon and I described it to Kevin Here's a picture of me drinking a Menehune Juice. |

Love Aphrodisiac Have you heard of sea food? Well, maybe it is a great thing that you take your partner to have some sea food, it is a known fact that oysters give that like extra when it comes to a little arousal just before the big thing, and it is also a bit known that these same oysters have a great effect on man’s performance, so you know that with these kind of foods nothing could ever go wrong in bed. There aren’t only kinds of different food or animal horns what will make the Top Aphrodisiacs, in fact, there are also things or products that could be labeled as an Aphrodisiac Drug. An Aphrodisiac Drug is any drug that would enhance that kind of stimulation that will make a person randy, horny or aroused, however you want to call it, and there is such an Aphrodisiac Drug in generic Viagra, if you take this product it will most definitely work as an Aphrodisiac Drug, and you are going to feel aroused and prepared for sex, however, this Aphrodisiac Drug will perform incredibly on a guy, and not so much so on a woman, so a lot could happen or not in terms of taking an Aphrodisiac Drug, so try to make the best out of it, and use an Aphrodisiac Drug for both of you, to share is the best thing that you could ever do, so share the right and most pleasing way with the top Aphrodisiacs. I haven't heard of sea food, but I actually have seen some hear food. Also, just curious where Chicken of the Sea fits in to all of this?
And maybe it isn't. Have you heard about the high mercury levels in Chicken of the Sea? Just ask Jeremy Piven.
Exactly what big thing are you talking about? The same ol' big thing, or the new big thing? Many argue that Witco is the new big thing. In actuality, it is today's big thing, which actually makes it yesterday's big thing. Which is fine, because it's vintage. Neil Patrick Harris is both the same old big thing and the new big thing at the same time! I wonder if NPH eats Chicken of the Sea?
Tell that to the prostitute between my mattress and box spring.
I thought Randy moved to Kauai? :? Does that mean that if I eat Chicken of the Sea that I will end up in the 50th state in my monkey underwear?
Is this another Neil Patrick Harris reference?
Dude, what is your problem with NPH?!?!?
It might be, but Coco Loco and I are still not having a three way with Ken Ruzic. (sorry, Ken!)
Coco Loco and I aren't doing anything with Thee Top Aphrodisiacs until their new album goes platinum. Or they buy me a Porsche. |

Best. Thread. Ever. For a second I thought I was confused, and then I looked at the clock and saw that it was only 7:50 am, and then I "knew" I was confused, and then everything was all right. |
