Underwater footage, impressive! Great series Chris :)

thanks again for your Videos Chris.

Sunday with the Martini Kings Poolside is always one of my favorite parts oft the weekend.

and of Course the 2 DJ's that close out the day.
but you didn't get them.
;-/

Jeff(btd)

I know, I wanted to capture you guys, but sadly had to get back to reality, Ugh! Stink! Boo!

So we are fundraising for a second camera here at "Lost In Paradise" (we borrowed one for TO and found it to be mucho necessary) and came up with an idea. We've had some inquiries about a DVD of the Lost In Paradise Tiki Oasis 10 episodes and if one could get a copy of them on DVD. Well, we figured out how to do it, and it looks pretty good too, all four episodes on one DVD. LOL! Our goal is to sell 20 DVD's at 10 bucks a pop (plus shipping) if anyone is interested. I'll keep a tally here of how many have sold (if any, lol) and how close we get to our goal (if at all) We really need another rig which will allow us to continually produce new shenanigans and adventures in the Tiki wilderness and beyond. If you are interested, please drop me a PM.

Cheers

Chris

Be sure to keep an eye open for the cameo by BigTikiDude,

Chris, it took me a while to get around to viewing this but it didn't disappoint - great job again

(Nice Jurassic Park ending :D )

Thanks once again MDM! One of these days, I'm going to splice all the end credits together, they're always so random, but it would be really trippy!!

P.S. The "Tiki Farm" gallery is only going to be up at "La Luz De Jesus" until this Sunday. Be sure to swing by and take a gander y'all!

Hmmm....

Here's my advice. Film the segment first and THEN start drinking.

:D

Where's the fun in that?

You need to stay sober for the Eddie show. Be a professional. Do it for Tiki !! :D

Yah, agreed, if there ever was a show to do legit, its that one.

Chris is back!!! Nice rendition of "15 Men"

Arrr! I should of just edited in the last verse, it goes on and on, and I only sang half of the song, shiver me timbers!

Thanks MadDogMike! On a side note, here's a "coming soon" of my new show:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXB8Vv1eMEY

So far, we've covered a lot of hot rod stuff, nothing tiki related......yet!

Great to see the continuing saga of LOST IN PARADISE and, what looks to be, an exciting new show for you with Access Rewind.

Not to contradict John-O's advice, but I say go ahead and drink & film at the same time. We've all seen enough sober show hosts. What fun is that? I doubt a sober host would have made it all the way through the bathroom sing-along.

Mahaloz Cap'n! Already on this new show I've been to get an old school shave, cruise Route 66 in a 50's Highway Patrol car and visit a lowrider shop. If you're on Facebook, here's a link to the show page:

http://www.facebook.com/AccessRewind

Also, right now we are looking for stories and places in San Bernardino. So far, I haven't had any luck on tracking down any Tiki past in San Berdoo. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Cheers,

Chris

Plenty of pop-culture history associated w' Berdoo, the obvious ones are of course the original McDonalds hamburger stand and my personal fave the Orange Showgrounds, home of the aluminum geodesic Kaiser Dome and once home to the Swing Auditorium - both legendary rock concert venues.

I don't recall any tiki related spots though during the time I lived in nearby Riverside circa '77 thru '82.

Mahaloz Bongofury, awesome info. I've driven by that place a few times and wondered if it had a tiki past. Super cool building, lying vacant.....sad.

TikiG, yah, I've covered the McDonalds hamburger stand. Super cool, apparently it was the first drive thru. Also, Taco Bell and Baker's started in San Bernardino as well. Trippy. I gotta go check out the Orange Showground stuff, looks super cool!

Went to scout out the "Trader Island" site. Wow! Looks like its for sale now. Anyone want to open up a tiki bar in San Berdoo?

Holy Crap!!

I'd love to have a go at that - who wouldn't? But San Berdoo though...rough...sketchy.

It would be nice to have a tiki destination halfway between LA and Palm Springs. Its physical location is hard to beat.

Lotto...come on baby!!

I know, definitely tempting! I even called the number to see how much they are asking for it, LOL! No news yet.... The place is BIG too! Wish there was a way to teleport here to Cucamonga.

Great job Chris !! This is your best episode yet.

You really captured the mood of the event, it was almost as good as being there. (Maybe better, I couldn't get that close to the stage. :)) I also really liked the interviews with Paul Johnson and John Blair who put into perspective the significance and influence of Eddie.

Also thank you for capturing the Eliminators doing "Bali Hai". I don't think that's part of their catalog. Anyone who doesn't agree with the Tiki/Surf combo needs to watch that clip. And it's being performed in a Don the Beachcomber no less !!

Don't forget to change the title of the thread. How about "Surfin'" for Eddie at DTBC ??

And who was operating the shaky camera on the Bel-Airs ?? I know it wasn't you since I could see you filming in the background. Was it Spike ?? Next time feed him the Mai Tais AFTER filming. Actually though that's probably more realistic since the whole show looked that way to me by 4pm. :D

[ Edited by: JOHN-O 2011-02-08 12:25 ]

GREAT EPISODE, Chris!!
That was such a fun event! You really DID capture all of the great stuff that went on at the benefit.
John-O you bought me the first mai tai of the day, so any shaky camera work is indirectly your fault. And actually, I was the close up camera on the guitars, so I'm not sure if I was the culprit anyhow....

Again, GREAT episode!! They just keep getting better and better!

Thanks guys! That was another guy's camera work on the "Bel Air" set. I got roped into running a camera for another crew, so asked him if he could catch a little of the "Bel Air" set for me. The footage makes me a little sea sick, but I at least I got something to use, LOL! Spike and Dinah were also part of my camera crew, and their shots rock! Big Mahaloz for helping me out guys.

I plan on making another video of "The Eliminators" entire version of "Bali Hai" using some other "fun" footage I got from the event. I am stoaked I captured it. When they said they were going to do A Rodgers & Hammerstein tune, I was hoping it was the one.

I hope the video encourages more donations to go Eddie's way. Big thanks to BigTikiDude again for organizing the event.

P.S. I won a "Space Cossack Reunion" t-shirt in one of the raffles, Awesome!!!!!

P.S.S. John-O, thanks for the kind words and the heading suggestion, cheers! Don't forget, next time, Rum Barrel on me!
